On the 20 November, 2009 Shelly and I headed to Coney Glen Beach, Knysna. You probably know how special this area
has been over the years for our family and our Dad in particular! When the time came it was easy to decide where to take
Dad's ashes and free him to the wind and the seas he loved so much.
These directions and our pictorial compilation will help anyone who may want to go and visit him at Coney Glen Beach,
Knysna.
How to get there…
“1. Through Knysna from the Cape Town side 2. Right into the road that takes you to the Heads past Leisure Isle 3. Left up
the hill where it is sign boarded "Coney Glen Beach" 4. Follow the sign board (see photo) into the picnic area 5. Walk through
the picnic are and down the wooden stairs to the beach (photo) 6. Turn to your right at the bottom and walk towards the gap
between the two large rocks 7. Just beyond the gap you will see an isolated rock (photo) that has a spectacular view of the
Heads from the sea side looking towards the lagoon.”
So, on Monday the 23 November we went very early and freed dad. It was such a moving and spiritual morning. The sense
of relief and happiness that we both felt that he was finally free and in a place that made him so happy, was quite
overwhelming.
We hope that this encourages those that are afraid to let him go to be inspired to do the same. Maybe they can also consider
our special spot.
Say 'hi' to dad!
We know that these pics will bring back warm memories and the sense of peace we felt.
Thanks and much love
Lesley and Michelle xx”
